Every crepe tutorial teaches you to judge a two-second window. We deleted the window. The hot 25cm plate dips into the bowl and lifts out coated in an even layer by surface tension — there is no timing call to get wrong and nothing that improves with practice.
The auto-thermostat holds the plate steady between crepes instead of drifting hotter and cooler the way a pan does. Ten for the table come out as ten that match, rather than a visible improvement curve from the first to the last.
The batter will not spread. It tears on the flip. It sticks. It comes out thick in the middle. There is batter down the side of the hob. And the machine that would fix it is too bulky to leave on the counter.
